It's confirmed. The US government has asked for another 30-day extension for the case involving NETeller co-founders Stephen Lawrence and John LeFebvre. The judge hearing the NETeller case has rescheduled the hearing to April 16, according to an announcement by the Information Office of the United States Attorney, Southern District of New York.

This is the third such extension.

Lawrence and Lefebre were arrested in the USA in January and charged with conspiring to transfer funds with the intent to promote illegal gambling (click here to read related PokerPages Article).

NETeller funds belonging to U.S. customers are now frozen and being held as evidence in the case. NETELLER announced that the amount of frozen assets belonging to U.S. poker players and other U.S. gamblers are about 55 million dollars, and that it is cooperating with the US government and trying to arrange release and repayment of the frozen funds (click here to read related PokerPages Article).

Online poker players who are frustrated by the lack of communication and progress in the release of their NETeller funds have formed a group, called the NETeller Consumer Coalition, to help accelerate repayment of their funds. The group is even considering legal action against NETeller (click here to read related PokerPages Article).
